Coyoacan, a neighbourhood of Mexico City, is home to the Museo Frida Kahlo. In this bright blue house in 1907, Frida Kahlo, was born. One of the most important artists (and becoming more and more popular) in Mexican Art History, Frida painted in the shadow of her husband and famed muralist, Diego Rivera.
Photography is not allowed inside the house where much of her and other artists work resides, however in the outside courtyard it is allowed. The courtyard is beautiful with bright blue walls, colorful flowers, fountains and a cute little coffee shop. It was even more colorful with the display for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
For those interested, there is an Academy Award Winning Film entitled 'Frida' which chronicles her life and is great viewing which we can highly recommend watching.
